Mr. Elmer D. Swinger, 73, of 418 N. Major Road in Belton, SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at AnMed Health Medical Center.  

He was a member of Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc. of Williamston, SC.  He retired from Vytec Industries in Anderson, SC.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories to his first love, life long friend and mother of his children, Anna Mae Brock Swinger of Anderson, SC; four sons, Johnny Swinger (Kim) of Simpsonville, SC, Michael Swinger of Anderson, SC, Patrick Swinger (Angela) of Anderson, SC, and Jermaine Swinger of Anderson, SC; two daughters, Tracy Mattison (Wallace) of Anderson, SC and Angela Swinger (Milton) of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Judy Edwards (Malcolm), Vicki Patterson, Beatrice Patterson, and Diane Patterson; one brother, Marion Swinger; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Swinger Patterson and three sisters, Cathy Swinger, Mary Ann Swinger Simpson, and Naomi Patterson.

The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.
