James Alfonso "Beet" Williams, 81, of 415 Anderson Road in Pendleton, SC, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at his home.  He was born in Anderson County, South Carolina to the late D.M. and Janie Ruth Williams.

Mr. Williams was a member of Mt. Able Baptist Church in Pendleton, SC.  He retired from Oconee Highway Department.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Ann Burnside Williams; two daughters, Carolyn Moses of Anderson, SC and Tymia Willis of Pendleton, SC; one son James A. "Pete" Williams of Pendleton, SC; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mattie Ruth Morris of Clemson, SC; one brother, Don Major Williams of Pendleton, SC; and a host of relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, D.M. and Janie Ruth Williams; sister, Barbara Harris; brothers, Alvin and Daniel Williams; and a granddaughter, Kalisha Williams.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Mt. Able Baptist Church in Pendleton, SC.  The interment will follow in the church cemetery.
