Mrs. Janie D. McAlister, age 102, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Hart Care Center in Hartwell, GA.

She is survived by her son, Wayne D. (Alma) McAlister of Augusta, GA; two grandchildren, Lisa and Edward; one great grandchild, Zion; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, I.V. McAlister; parents, Jim and Ida Davis; one son, James E. McAlister; three sisters, Sallie D. Morris, Madgie D. Nance, and Mattie D. Martin; and two brothers, Otis Davis and Matthew Davis.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
