Mrs. Jannie Mae Ervin Rogers, 70, of 2604 Amity Rd., Belton, SC, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Jannie Mae, was the daughter of the late Benjamin Ervin Sr. and Eddie Mae Ervin. She was born on October 20, 1947 in Kingstree, SC and raised in Suffolk, VA, where she attended East Suffolk High and was a member of Missouri Baptist Church.
In 1980, Jannie moved to Rochester, NY and worked at Eastman Kodak until 1992. After which she worked at Genesee Hospital as a CNA. During that time, she met and married Willie Buck Rogers Jr. In 1995, they later moved to Anderson, SC and worked and retired from the Kroger Bakery Company.
She was an active member of several boards at Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was known for being so sweet and always cooking a good meal or cake.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two remaining children, Bennie L. Guess Jr. and Tammro Guess-Williams; two brothers, Benjamin Ervin Jr. and Michael Ervin; three sisters, Elizabeth Mason, Michelle Ervin and Barbara Jean Shaw; eight grandchildren, Vontrease and Yasmeen Williams, Katturah, Shontrice, Destiny, Trinity, and Anniyah Guess, and Anthony Wells; four great-grandchildren; two step-children, Delores Hunter and Janice Rogers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Jannie was preceded in death by her husband Willie Buck Rogers Jr.; son Travis Guess; and her parents.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.
