John Henry Clinkscales

Mr. John H. Clinkscales was born on June 30, 1929 to Mr. James W. "Dock" and Mrs. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Berry Clinkscales.  He departed this life on July 23, 2019 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Anderson, South Carolina and he worked construction for many years.

He was married to the late Eunice Hill.  Through this union, three children were born:  Rev. Elizabeth Clinkscales, John H. Clinkscales, Jr., and Will Clinkscales.  He also had two stepchildren, Mable L. Jackson of Boston, Massachusetts and Gerome Hill, who preceded him in death.  He also had another son who preceded him in death, John H. Clinkscales.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: his three children, one stepdaughter, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a daughter-in-law, Ann Clinkscales, a long-time friend, Freddie R. Hudson, and a caretaker, Amanda Griffins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons, five sisters, and six brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the funeral home from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

The family will be at 600 Booker Street Anderson, SC and 115 Lanford Street (Parkview Heights Apt.) Anderson, SC.
