Barbara Lorene (Donald) Walker

Mrs. Barbara Lorene Donald Walker affectionately known as “Bob” and “Nana”, was born on October 28, 1960 to the late Rev. Johnny Sylvester Donald, Sr. and the late Mrs. Elease Hall Donald.

Barbara grew up in the Bolt Drive Community and was a 1978 graduate of TL Hanna High School.  She worked at Owens Corning, and retired after 30 years of service.  She gave her life to Jesus Christ at a young age, and was an active member of Strait Christian Church.  Bob faithfully served as a member of the StoreHouse Outreach Ministry and as head of the Hospitality Committee.  Some of her hobbies included cooking and entertaining, as well as fishing with her husband.  She enjoyed shopping and being a blessing to others.  She was well-known for her fun-loving personality.  Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, David Anthony Donald.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 45 years, Harold Walker, Jr.  Through this union, they were blessed with two sons, Harold (LaMarie) Walker, III of Charlotte, NC and Brian Patrick (Amy) Walker of Anderson, SC.  She was a devoted and loving grandmother to a granddaughter, Kaylee Marie Walker of Charlotte, NC and a grandson, Brandon Ezra Harold Walker of Anderson, SC.  Her siblings include a sister, Ms. Frances Ann Sebuabey of Charlotte, NC and her brother and pastor, Rev. Johnny Sylvester (Willette) Donald, Jr.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Claudia Thomas and her brother-in-law, Gary (Ann) Williams, her nieces and nephews, as well as a host of cousins and friends.  

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Strait Christian Church.  The interment will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery.  Public viewing Friday from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
