Betty Delores (Madden) Jenkins

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  2 Corinthians 5:1

Ms. Betty Delores Madden Jenkins was born on July 25, 1956 in Anderson, SC.  She departed this life on Friday, November 12, 2021.

Delores graduated from Westside High School in 1973.  She decided to further her studies at Tri-County Technical College.  Delores loved her family and especially the kids.  In her spare time she would open her home to babysitting.  Delores loved all kinds of flowers and loved to crochet.  Her unique personality will be dearly missed by many.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five sisters, Nettie (Melvin) Latimer, Cynthia Diane (Delano) Carson, Hope Brawner, Nicole Brawner, and Gloria "Cookie" Stewart; five brothers, Calvin Brock, Robert (Annethia) Kemp, Frederick Brawner, Nathan Page, and Ronnie Bruce; a special friend, Claude "Butch" Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Madden Brawner; father, Robert Kemp; her grandmother that helped raise her, Gertrude "Libby" Allen; infant son, Nichols Lamont Fredrick Ronnie Jenkins; and two brothers, Lamont Brawner and Willie Kemp.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family is at the home of her sister, Hope Brawner, 301 Lawrence Rd. Anderson, SC 29624.
