Bobby Lee Lewis

Early Friday morning, the angel of the Lord looked down upon our loved one’s face, embraced him, took his hand and led him home to be with our Heavenly Father.  Bobby Lee Lewis was born on December 6, 1947 to the late Leroy and Ruth Mae Cobb Lewis and he departed this earthly life on August 19, 2022. 

Bobby joined Richland Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful and devoted member of the gospel choir until his health declined. Bobby loved to sing and along with his sisters and niece formed the Lewis Family Singing Group.  Bobby was employed as a graphic designer at WestPoint Stevens where he retired after 38 years of employment.

If you knew Bobby well, you would know that he loved old and fast car and he loved to have family gatherings and stringing a rope between two trees for endless games of volleyball.

Bobby leaves to cherish fond loving memories: to his loving, devoted and faithful wife of 48 years, Lucille Gilliard Lewis; one son, Robert Eugene Lewis of Seneca SC; two loving sisters, Margaret Cunningham of Seneca SC, Mildred Robinson of Central SC; a devoted brother, David Leon Lewis (Robbie)of Seneca SC; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Prater and Rosa Geer of Anderson SC; brothers-in-law, James (Idnell) Johnson of Seneca SC; William (Grace) Johnson of Townville SC John Thomas and David Gilliard of
Seneca SC; James Gilliard of Anderson, SC; two grandsons, three greatgrandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ruth Lewis and one sister, Dorothy Valentine.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Richland Baptist Church.  The interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.  Public viewing will be held on Monday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
