Bobby Witcher Obituary

Mr. Bobby Ray Witcher, age 69, was born and raised in Anderson County, SC to the late Joe and Daisy Louise Witcher. He graduated in 1970 from New Deal High School.

Ray retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas, Amarillo Texas. Prior to relocating to Texas, he was also employed with Kroger Bakery, Anderson, SC. He was well-known as being a Number 1 fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team.  Ray enjoyed making people laugh and had a voice that could resonate his love for life and energy he brought into a room. In Ray’s final days, he wanted his family to know that if he goes to sleep, not to worry about him, his eternity is secure.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Fannie Mae, five son’s: Victor Witcher of Columbus, Maryland, Bobby Terrell Witcher of Houston, Texas, Kevin Witcher (Melissa), Gregory Witcher and Joseph Witcher (Tonya Blanding) of Anderson, South Carolina along with 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grand children. Ray also adopted Frances Thunderburk of Amarillo, Texas and became grandfather to Cody Baniolas (who was raised in their home), Cory Baniolas and Maqthuinzie Baniolas of Amarillo, Texas. One Uncle: Herbert Witcher, of Anderson, SC; Eight siblings: Mary (David) Latimer, Jackie (Doris) Witcher, Jean (Willie) Lee, Janice (James) Savage, Ronald (Dorise) Witcher, Donald (Gladys) Witcher, Evelyn (Jon) Pominville and Charlene (Johnnie) Skelton; and a host of nieces, nephews with four generations that follows. Extended family consisting of many cousins including Special cousin: James “Sonny” Hutchinson.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Daisy L. Witcher, brother Jimmy Witcher and sister, Annie Pearl Morris.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2021 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. 

The family is at the home of his brother, Jackie Witcher, 420 Greenmeadow Circle Anderson, SC 29626.
