Gloria Frances Paul

We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Gloria Frances Paul. Gloria transitioned on July 29, 2022 at 64 years old. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family.

Gloria was born in Abbeville, SC to the late William Slappy of Abbeville, SC and the late Geneva Scott of Antreville, SC, but has lived in Anderson, SC for most of her life.  She was a Cosmetologist as well as an Esthetician.  She will forever be cherished by her two children, Corona Shantai Scott and Yasuko Janeke Oglesby, both of Indiana, along with eight grandchildren. She also leaves behind fourteen siblings, Essie (Michael) Young, Ruby Adams, Sylvia Scott, Bobby Paul, Calvin Scott, Randy Scott, and Billy Scott, all born to the late Geneva Scott; three sisters and four brothers of Abbeville, SC born to the late William Slappy; three sister cousins, Diane Paul, Martha Tucker, and Gloria Peterson; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gloria was preceded in death by a granddaughter; her mother, Geneva Scott; and father, William Slappy.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Mt. Clement C.M.E. Church Cemetery in Abbeville, SC. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
