Mrs. Gwendolyn Elveta Brown, 83, formerly of Clemson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Mrs. Gwendolyn Elveta Williams Brown was born on June 7, 1937 in Anderson County to the late Lois Adams and Robert Williams Jr. She was raised by T.C. and Minnie Mae Walker of Clemson, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two brothers Marion Williams and Jeroish Williams, and one sister Della Mae Robinson. She was married to the late Furman Brown of Pendleton, SC; then James Brown of Seneca, SC until his death.
Mrs. Gwendolyn Elveta (Williams) Brown was born on June 7, 1937, in Anderson County to the late Lois Adams and Robert Williams Jr. She was raised by T.C. and Minnie Mae Walker of Clemson, SC. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church of Townville, SC. She attended Seneca High School and continued her education at Friendship College of Rockhill SC, receiving a degree in Education.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Marion Williams and Jeroish Williams; one sister, Dellamae Robinson; and godson, Mr. Kevin Lewis. She was married to the late Furman Brown of Pendleton, SC, and James Brown of Seneca, SC.
She leaves behind three daughters Mrs. Frederica (Norman) Brown of Camden, SC; Ms. Furmella (Gary Special friend and Caregiver) Oglesby and Ms. Rosetta Brown both of Clemson, SC; one son Mr. Christopher (Michelle) Robinson of Anderson, SC; reared in the home grandsons Mr. Rodriquez Brown of Clemson, SC, Delano (Denise) Brown of Chapin, SC, and great-grandsons Malik Grate of Pendleton, SC and Master Samaji' Bowen of Clemson, SC; grandchildren, Mrs. Monetha (Timothy) Gaskin of Columbia, SC, Mr. Fernandez Oglesby of Clemson, SC, Mrs. Clarissa (Chris) Zimmerman of Blythewood, SC, Dr. Aaron(Kristin) Brown of Chicago, IL, Mr. Devario Brown of Clemson, SC, Mr. Timothy Brown of Camden, SC, Miss Mykiah Daniels of Seneca, SC, Miss Nadia Hallums of Clemson, SC, Mr. Christopher Robinson of Seneca, SC, Mr. Jamel Brown of Clemson, SC, Miss Kristen, Juila, and Jasmine Robinson all of Anderson, SC; twenty-five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Townville, SC.
Friends may pay their respects and send floral arrangements on Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
