Harry Hagood Obituary

Our Heavenly Father, with His unconditional love, grace, and mercy, looked down on earth and saw Deacon Hagood’s tired face. He knew that Deacon Hagood was suffering, in pain, and that his road was getting rough. So God gently put His loving arms around him, closed his weary eyes, and whispered, "Peace be Thine,"; as he lifted him from Earth to Glory. No more suffering. No more pain. He is now resting in God’s embrace. FREE at last!

On December 14, 1947, God blessed Harriet Gevomie Blassingame and John Henry Hagood in union with a precious son, Harry Thomas Hagood. Deacon Hagood entered eternal rest peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was a Christian Warrior and a shining example of what all men should be. He was always there for his wife, children, grandchildren, and other extended family members.

He found his soul mate and best friend for life when he married Lena Mae Jenkins for 54 years of marriage. Deacon Hagood was employed with Ralph Hayes Toyota for over 30 years as the Detail Manager. He was a devoted and dedicated member of New Holly Light Missionary Baptist Church where he served until his health failed. He was a Deacon, Chairman of the Deacons Ministry, Sunday School Superintendent and member of the Male Choir.

He was preceded to the grave by his parents, one brother, Saverio Hagood, and one nephew, Stephen Hagood.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of the home, Lena Hagood; Two daughters: Tracy Hagood Oreus (Dr. Maxcene Oreus) of Alpharetta, Georgia, Yolanda Hagood Jeffries of South Carolina, and One son: Johnson Stuckey of Brooklyn, NY; Two grandchildren: Marco Oreus and Jovanikha Oreus, both of Alpharetta, Ga.; Nieces who spent a brief time in the home: Margaret Brownlee-Black and Dotlice Logan; Nephews who spent a brief time in the home Michael Peppers and Cadakka Smith; Two nieces: La Junta Hair and Vitanza Griffin; Sisters-in-law: Maguerite Brownlee and Minister Queen Hagood; A devoted cousin, Waddell Haggan, A devoted brother-in-law, Willie Jenkins and a host of other relatives and friends.
