Jessie Mae Tate

Jessie Mae Tate was born on July 25, 1945.  She transitioned to her eternal Heavenly home on December 22, 2022.

Jessie was born in Anderson, SC to Scott and Gracie Lou Tate.  In her earlier years of life, she was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church.  She graduated from the old Westside High School in 1964.  Jessie was employed at NHC for many years until she retired.

Jessie leaves behind to cherish memories her beloved daughters, Michelle (Joan) Tate and Yolanda Tate; one granddaughter, Jolanda Reddick; one great-granddaughter, Jakyiah Reddick; five sisters, Geraldine Davis of Delhi, LA, Mary Lee (Marcell) Fant, Betty Thompson, Ruby Nell (Willie Frank) Dennis, and Kathleen (Edward) Oliver all of Anderson, SC; two brothers, Larkin (Bernice) Tate of Anderson, SC and Tony (Betty) Taylor of Taylors, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Markeith Tate; her maternal and paternal grandparents; one sister, Christine Williams; and one brother, George Henry Tate.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at Jefferson Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery.  Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
