Mrs. Johnnie Mae "Tootsie" Maxwell was born in Anderson County, South Carolina on March 30, 1949 to the late Carrie Bell Thompson and Johnny Hunter. She passed away on November 13, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Sammie Maxwell, Sr.; daughter, Shanta S. Estrich; sons, Sammie Maxwell, Jr. (Barbara) and Christopher R. Maxwell; five grandchildren; sisters, Charlene Thompson, Mary Thompson, Laura Thompson, Jamie Lee Thompson, Linda Jones, Elaine Hunter, Donna Hunter, Sharon Hunter, Patricia Scott, Margaret Webb, and Louise Wardlaw; brothers, Herman Thompson, Jessie Thompson, Rayford Hunter, Michael Hunter, Pete Hunter, and Richard Hunter; and a host of relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Westview Cemetery. Public viewing Thursday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
