Keenen Turman

Keenen Turman transitioned on February 3, 2024. He was born July 11, 1990 in Anderson, South Carolina. Keenen always said being born on 7/11 meant he was a lucky guy. He was a phenomenal man and is already missed dearly.

Keenen attended Westside High School and was a former employee of Owens Corning Fiberglass.

Keenen was always striving for greatness.  All he ever wanted to do was build a brand from a record label to a production company, all the way to opening a store. Anything that he felt would give him financial freedom and a better life all around....he tried it. He kept a dream.  He always motivated and inspired others to follow their dreams.

Keenen was always smiling, always putting others before himself, and always ready to help in any way he could. Anyone who knows him knows that. His pride and joy came in being a father.  He would tell you that being Eli's dad was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Keenen touched many lives with his genuine love. He will be dearly missed by his mother, Kenya Turman St. John of Greenville, SC; father, Curtis Clinkscales of Boston, MA; son, Jeremiah Eli Gentry of Greenville, SC; sister, Candace Griffin of Greenville, SC; brother: Paul "PJ" St. John, Jr. of Greenville, SC; nephews, Emmanuel Hannon and Dez Turman; grandmothers, Maxine Syrkett of Greenwood, SC and Mary Clinkscales of Boston, MA; grandfather, Marion Clayton of Anderson, SC; aunts, Annette Turman and Debra Turman; uncles, Maurice (Sonya) Turman, Tyrell Clayton, and Kevin Syrkett; special cousins, Quan Turman, Desman Turman, O’Bryanna Turman, Keyannna Martin, Tonya Turman, Tasha Turman, Valvet Clinkscales, Jowannica Clinkscales, and Adrian Turman; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Turman; paternal great-grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Clinkscales; and two aunts, Gail Clinkscales and Gina Clinkscales.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.  Public viewing Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of his mother, 127 Caledon Ct., Greenville, SC, 29615 and the home of his cousin, Tasha Turman, 117 Spring  Hill Rd., Anderson, SC, 29626.
