Lillie Brown Obituary

Mrs. Lillie Cornealia (Williams) Brown of Greenwood, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at age 69.

She is survived by Willie James Brown, her husband of 52 years, and her daughters Tomiko (Daniel) Brown-Nagin of Brookline, MA, and Faith (Frazer) Lowe of Chandlers Ford, England.  She is also survived by her mother, Edna Scott Williams, and four siblings, Rev. Ronnie (Helen) Williams, Leonard Williams, Bobbie Jean (Joe) Harrison and Sandy (Frank) Caldwell. Brown was a loving grandmother to Julius and Avi Nagin of Brookline, MA, and Isla Lowe of Chandlers Ford, England.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.  

Brown was preceded in death by her father, Squire Williams Jr., her son, W. Marcus Brown, and one brother, Eddie J. Williams.

A graveside service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Generostee Baptist Church in Starr, SC.  

In keeping with Brown’s wishes and in lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Lillie C. Brown Scholarship Fund at Lander University, payable to the "The Lander Foundation" and posted to the Lander University Advancement Office, 320 Stanley Ave., Greenwood, SC 29249. 

The family is at the home.
