Mrs. Mildred Sloan Wardlaw Davis, affectionately know as "Big Mamma", was born on November 27, 1933 to the late Corrie Robinson in Anderson, SC. She passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
She was employed as a CNA at Anderson Memorial Hospital (now know as AnMed Health Medical Center). She later extended her services as a private healthcare giver and finally retired from National Health Care (NHC).
She leaves to cherish her love and memory to her children, William "Butch" Wardlaw of Greenville, SC, Daisy Smith of Anderson, SC, Deborah Wardlaw of Greer, SC Michael Wardlaw of Anderson, SC, Sheron Wardlaw of Anderson, SC, Stephanie England of Ashville, NC, and Laura Wardlaw of Anderson, SC; a grandson reared in the home, Jarett Wardlaw; nephew, John (Helen) Sloan of Virginia, Bernard (Sandra) Sloan of Detroit, MI, and Kevin (Carolyn) Sloan of Detroit, MI; nieces, Phyllis McGuire of Detroit, MI; and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Corrie Sloan Robinson; sister, Corine Mack; and one son-in-law, Herman Smith.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on October 28, 2020 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects and send floral arrangements on Tuesday, October 27 from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Daisy Smith, 402-A Evans Street Anderson, SC.
