On Saturday, December 31, 2022, Mrs. Minnie P. White Scott entered into eternal rest. She was born on March 8, 1943 to the late Luther and Matilda Geer White. She was married to the late Rev. Calvin A. Scott.
Minnie joined Welfare Baptist Church at an early age. She moved to Indianapolis, Indiana for over 25 years. While there she was a manager for ARA Food Services. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the VFW. In addition, while living in Indiana she was a volunteer of Youth on the Move, where she taught youths work ethics. Lastly, she was a prior board member for Indianapolis Dress for Success.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her nieces, Shirley Bell, Delores Lesley, and Latosha White all of Anderson, SC; one special niece, Shamika (Etienne) Morris of Upper Marlboro, MD; stepsons, Lamarquis Jones (reared in the home), Robert (Henrietta) Jones of Rock Hill, SC, and Frederick Jones of California; one granddaughter, Quatila Rice of Anderson, SC; nephews, George (Grace) White, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Levon White of Atlanta, GA, and Sylvester White of Anderson, SC; three great nephews and one great niece; and a host of other relatives and close friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Calvin White; two sisters, Mary Frances Thompson and Leartis Fisher; and three brothers, William White, George White, and Joe Edward White.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Welfare Baptist Church. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
