Osborne Alexander "Alex" Jones was born on April 7, 1962 in Anderson, S.C. to the late Wille E. and Adell Simmons Jones.
He made his dedication to Jehovah and was baptized in October 1975, alongside his sister Katrina. Alex graduated from McDuffie High School Class of 1980 in Anderson, S.C. where he received multiple trophies and awards for both athletic and academic achievements.
In his early adulthood, Alex worked as a cook. He later moved to Atlanta, GA where he became a skilled carpenter. He took pride in assisting with the building of Lennox Mall and the Lindbergh Marta Transit projects. Alex later changed professions and worked in the grocery store industry working his way up to store
manager.
He adored teaching anyone who would listen and motivating others to reach their goals. Alex loved spending time with his family, eating, singing, dancing,
traveling, and watching movies and sports. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Connie Greenlee Jones; his daughters; Danisha
Alexis Jones, Jerlise Adell Jones and Markisha Anne Gray of Atlanta, GA, Heather Adams of Anderson, S.C. and son Xavier Alexander Jones of Atlanta, GA.; seven Grandchildren: including: Daisja, Nijha, and Aniah Jones, Sisters: Loretta Turner of Hartwell, GA, Cedalia Thompson of Stockton, CA, Beverly “BJ” Jones, and Katrina Jones of Anderson S.C. and a host of bonus kids, bonus grandkids, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Bowman.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The service will also be available through Zoom.
