Shameka Chauntea Fant

Shameka was born on October 30, 1980 to Johnnye Anthony Fant and Sandra Denise Martin Geer.  She was reared in the home of her paternal grandparents, Dorothy Latimer Fant "Mama Dot" and Johnnye Joe Fant "Granddaddy".  She departed this life on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

Meka joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at a young age.  During this time she was a member of the Children's Choir and the Youth Choir.  She was a 1999 graduate of T. L. Hanna High School.  Before becoming disabled, she was employed by Kids Stuff Academy.

Meka's beautiful soft spoken and shy disposition will truly be remembered.  Her gorgeous smile will never be forgotten.  She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, her loving mother, Sandra (James) Geer; her loving and devoted paternal grandmother, Mama Dot; her loving maternal grandmother, Artina Martin; three sisters, Lakisha Fant (Antonio) Hatten and Aliyah Geer both of Anderson, SC, Chanta Geer (D'Mont) Ziegler of Columbia, SC; three brothers, Keenan (Courtney) Geer of Anderson, SC, Rickey Lo'Derrick Odom of Rock Hill, SC, and Jhonterry Fant of Charlotte, NC; a special aunt and uncle, Savitra and Drewayne Fant both of the home; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnye Anthony Fant; paternal grandfather, Johnnye Joe Fant; maternal grandfather, Alvin Martin; one niece, Avianna Hatten; and one nephew, Keshuna Hatten.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  Public viewing will be held on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
