Teresa Iola (Pickens) Wiley

On April 25, 1971, James and Mildred Pickens welcomed Teresa Iola Pickens into their lives at Anderson Memorial Hospital (now known as AnMed Health Medical Center) in Anderson, SC.

Teresa was a high school graduate of Westside High School in which she later transitioned into cosmetology school, where she completed and became a licensed cosmetologist.

Many would refer to Teresa as one of the most hard working women they've known.  She spent a great deal of her years working in the manufacturing field at MoHawk & Electrolux, while doing hair on the side at Looking Good Beauty Salon.  Eventually, she switched over to cosmetology full time.  In her free time you could always catch her at home with family, tending to her grandchildren or pampering herself.

She will be missed by her Teresa gained her wings November 30, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, James and Mildred Campbell Pickens, grandparents, Jimmy Gray and Edna Pickens Latimer, Sarah Irby and Melvin Hawthorne and her brothers, Cecil Antonio Pickens and Phillip Jerome Pickens.

She leaves behind a loving family: her husband, Robert Lee Wiley, Jr. of 24 years, three children, Cornelius Belcher; of Anderson, SC, Teressa Mansel (Xavier) of Summerville, SC and Aaliyah Wiley of Columbia, SC;  grandchildren, Vanessa Baskin, Elijah Belcher, Andrea Belcher, Ariah Belcher, and Gabriel Walker; brothers, Eddie Donald, James Pickens, and Larry Pickens; sisters, Sheila Cunningham, Shella Wheaton, Jacqueline Pickens, Vonda (Gary) Willingham, Mildred Pickens, Teeshia Pickens, Sharreff (Yancy) McAdams, and Ann Gray; mother-in-law, Lillie Keller (Ernest); father-in-law, Robert Wiley, Sr. (Janice); sister-in-law, Kenyatta Keller; brothers-in-law, Ronald Wiley, Alphonso Hunter, and DeAndre Keller; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 11, 2021 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
