Timothy Roosevelt Mattison was born in Anderson, SC to the late Mr. Robert Mattison, Sr. and Mrs. Ruth Lee Mattison on April 6th, 1944.  He returned to his heavenly home on November 15th, 2021.

Timothy graduated from Westside High School in 1962.  After graduating, he joined the military and traveled the world in the United States Army.  He served admirably for three years and earned the rank of an E5 Sergeant.  After his honorable discharge, he worked for Duke Power and the Singer Plant in Anderson until suffering a massive stroke in 1974 at the age of 30.  For some this life altering disability would have hindered their quality of life, but Timothy R. Mattison took this as a challenge to overcome any obstacle that came his way and vowed to remain active and independent. He was an avid walker, he enjoyed working in the yard, coaching youth football, and helping those in need.  He was an avid Braves, Falcons, and Panthers fan.  He was a proud grandfather who loved spending time with his grandsons and watching them play sports.  He left a legacy of faith, strength, and wisdom to his family and others in his presence.

Tim was saved at a young age and was a faithful and dedicated member of King David Baptist Church.  He enjoyed working and having carious leadership roles in the church, as long as his health allowed.  He served as an Usher, Trustee, and Deacon.

Tim also fondly known as Roosevelt, leaves to cherish loving memories, his son, Montez Mattison and his wife, Kim Mattison of Duluth, GA; daughter, Luciana "Shana" Brown and her husband, Calvin Brown of Suwanee, GA; two grandchildren, Colby and Eli Brown also of Suwanee, GA; sisters, Arnetha Hood, Rosezella Gillard, and Verlena Ditty all of Anderson, SC, and Evelyn Walston of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Tim was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patsy Mattison, brothers, Robert Mattison, Jr., James Mattison, and Curtis Mattison, and two sisters, Dorothy Hood and Johnnie Ruth Clinkscales.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at King David Baptist Church.  The interment will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
